Idaho Fires

We recently made our way up the mountain headed to McCall-when we ran right into the Banks fire that was so close to the road that both Husband and I new we had never seen a wildfire that upclose before. As we started to get past the portion of the road that had been stopped for quite some time, off to our left we watched as this HUGE firefighter helicopter touched down in the Payette River! It felt like we were in a movie or something-with how close we were to it. My camera was getting sprayed by the mist caused by the blades whipping around-and crowds of people stood on the banks 50 ft away from the helicopter-amazed at the phenomenon. The other picture shows a glimpse of how red the sky was as we drove through Cascade on our way to McCall. Unfortunately, fires are still blazing all over the state-many right around the Banks/Council area.
