Football Season Begins!

Well, it's official: Trojan football season has begun! My dad's team, the Nampa Christian Varsity football team won their first game against a tough opponant-Glens Ferry. Break out the chips and chili dogs! We're ready to watch some football!! My dad has enjoyed getting to be apart of so many young men's lives through this program, in showing them Christ through the day to day athletic world of sports. Way to go dad! And GO TROJANS!!

Tent Pitch 2007

This summer, Husband and I were invited to join the 3rd annual "Tent Pitch" in which 10-15 other couples from our church got together and had a great time tenting it in the outdoor woods of Idaho City (about 2 hrs away from Boise). I don't think I've ever been a part of a more organized event! Our friends Chris, Brian, and Scott scoped out the area, making sure it was kid-friendly, and could hold 50 people-so all we had to do was show up! It was a great time of hanging out with new people, letting our kids play in the dirt, and with frogs in the river, and eat great camping junk food for 2 days!

Shawn and Marie's Wedding

I know that this post is long overdue-but better late than never, right? My brother Shawn and my new sister-in-law Marie got married this last May in Marysville, WA. It was such a fun day! Husband and I decided that we would try to make it a little "mini vacation" so we stayed an extra day and a half, in the Seattle area hanging out with our boys and the rest of my family. Big boy was our main concern (as he was the ring-bearer)-in that we weren't sure if he'd make it down the aisle or not-since he had a hard time doing just that at the rehearsal! But, yet again, our little guy put on a good show-and it couldn't have gone any better (thank goodness!) It helped that he knew alot of the wedding party, I think...Anyways, the newlyweds are now living in Nampa, where Marie is finishing her last year of school to be an elementary ed teacher, and Shawn is working for Cornerstone with Husband and Travis.

Lazy day canoe trip

Well, this was Husband's and my first canoe trip in a couple of years-and I must say I was missing our yearly jaunts down either the John Day or the Umpqua river. So this trip was a great way for us to get back into the habit of canoeing without much stress. It was a 1/2 day float, putting in at Horseshoe Bend and taking out at Emmett. Maybe next summer we'll go all out and try a 2 day-er!

Peanut's 1st Birthday!

We celebrated Peanut's 1st Birthday this last weekend, and I must say the kid can perform! There's nothing like seeing your child smear gooey chocolate all over themselves! Let's just say the tub definately had a chocolate "ring" around it after his bath :) We had a great time hanging out with both sides of the family-and eating a little bit of cake ourselves. Happy Birthday Peanut!

Uncle Scott and Auntie Corine

We have had so much fun hanging out with my brother Scott and sister-in-law Corine. We've especially loved to watch Corine's belly grow as our future niece Big Mak starts to get bigger and bigger each day. Big boy especially likes their backyard playset!

Bears, oh my!

Well, a few weeks ago, Jerry set off on his Centennial Trail Expedition. Husband and I were his drop off ride as he headed off into the wilderness with little possessions on him. I am amazed at Jerry's speed-walking capabilities, as you will tell from one of the pictures, I lagged behind quite a few times! But it was amazing being in God's beautiful creation and seeing all of the wildlife that we (Husband and I...) did. I hesitate to say (sorry Jerry!) that Husband and I in the 2 hours we spent hiking saw more wildlife than Jerry did in his week-long venture! Jerry only saw a few deer, as Husband and I saw one mamma bear (see pic) and 3 cubs-along with a HUGE deer as well. I hate to rub it in, but it does make me chuckle a bit at knowing how into hunting and the outdoors that my awesome father-in-law is, and how NOT that I am :) Love ya Jerry!

Adios Argentina!

Well, after months of planning-we finally went to Buenos Aires, Argentina this last June. Husband went for almost 3 weeks, and I went for 1 week-leaving our two little guys behind for a fun-filled week with Grandma and Grandpa Haverfield. It was a great trip, but alas-it is always good to be home! Husband felt like the construction aspect of the trip couldn't have gone any better than it did. I was happy to be with my husband and getting the priviledge to paint and be creative on the job site. We are planning to go back in January of 08' to finish the convention center.
